About mORstaff

Like all good things, mORstaff started small! In 2011, mORstaff gained its presence by placing OR Nurses and Anaesthetic Technicians into casual contracts exclusively in Auckland. Currently, mORstaff have perioperative experts contracted nationwide, covering PACU, OR and SSD services within both public and private hospitals and day stay surgical units. mORstaff covers a range of booking requests from half day lists right through to fixed term, full time contracts of one year or more.

Where can mORstaff Contractors be placed in NZ?

Anywhere public or private surgical services require additional perioperative staff!

mORstaff places casual contractors into public and private surgical hospitals in the major cities and regional towns throughout NZ’s North and South Islands. We have a nationwide service contract with Southern Cross Hospitals, NZ’s leader in private surgical care. Public hospitals across NZ such as the wider Auckland DHB’s, the MidCentral DHB and down to the Southern DHB, amongst other public hospital and private OR’s, rely on mORstaff to assist them with additional staff to ensure their planned lists are completed.

What forms do I need to complete to be a part of mORstaff?

To apply to become a contractor just send us your current CV and we will get in touch with you personally!

Before you are placed in a contract role we will advise you of any paperwork we need, such as current NZ certifications, work visas and insurances, to ensure all the regulations and standards required for safe, quality healthcare provision are met.

What does being ‘Self-Employed’ involve with mORstaff?

Until now someone else has always dictated when and where you work, but not anymore! Join mORstaff and experience the benefits of professional contracting – it’s totally free to join the team!

You will have the benefit of independence in deciding your hours of work to suit your availability, what days and where you would like to work from a variety of public and private mORstaff clients around NZ.

It is essential to have a written contract for services in place which covers the conditions under which you will provide your services. We do all this for you!

We will provide you with the information and support you need to manage your own work life balance. mORstaff makes it easy!

How do I get paid with mORstaff?

You are paid fortnightly into your nominated NZ bank account for your previous fortnight’s worked hours; ON TIME, EVERY TIME!

You just submit your approved timesheet/s to us and we ensure you are paid promptly, providing you with all the information needed to comply with IRD requirements.

Does mORstaff pay my tax for me?

YES! We take care of deducting your nominated Withholding Tax each payday.

We have a dedicated XERO expert to process your individual pays and who is available to answer questions about your  income, taxation and when you should register for GST.

mORstaff provides clear, concise pay records to make it easy for you or your accountant to submit an end of year tax return and claim for the many benefits available for self-employed contractors.

What support does mORstaff provide for me?

A dedicated bookings manager available 24/7 if required

All the information about your client you need to ensure you will be well prepared for your booking.

Any air travel and accommodation bookings and payments where applicable.

Access to all the paperwork you need, like time-sheets, induction forms, reports regarding H & S issues.

Ongoing support from all the mORstaff team to answer any questions you may have.

I am an overseas qualified Anaesthetic Technician. Can I work in New Zealand?

YES! Once you have registered with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (MSCNZ) and hold a current NZ Practicing Certificate.

YES! Registered Anaesthetic Technicians are currently on the Immigration New Zealand skill shortage list and mORstaff can assist you when making an application for a suitable work visa, if required. Please click on this link for further information about the NZ Immigration requirements needed.

YES! If you are from the UK, your United Kingdom-issued qualification in anaesthetic technology is recognised if you are registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). Please click on this link for further information about the MSCNZ Anaesthetic Technician registration process.

YES! Once you have registered with the New Zealand Nursing Council and hold a current NZ Practicing Certificate.

How do I book and confirm shifts?

We have a dedicated bookings consultant working Monday to Friday and on call for evenings and weekends to ensure you can get help when you need it.

All bookings can be done via a text, email or calling us to discuss your needs.
